The Nagra HD PHONO, following the launch of the Reference turntable and Nagra MC-4 moving-coil cartridge, is a state-of-the-art phono stage. It features a two-chassis design: one housing the delicate phono stage circuitry in a CNC machined aluminum chassis, and the other containing a supercapacitor-based power supply. This advanced power supply, based on the HD PREAMP and HD DAC X, charges faster and handles higher current loads more efficiently than traditional battery-based power supplies.
 
The HD PHONO incorporates a damped, constrained layer platform and four isolator damped towers for superior vibration resistance. It is a dual-mono, pure Class A design with 100% tube stages, utilizing 4x EF806S and 2x E88CC tubes. It features custom-made input transformers with cryogenically treated Cobalt cores, providing 26 dB of gain and an overall adjustable gain of up to 68.5 dB.
